Dynamics 365 / Power Platform Technical Solutions Consultant

Job Description

As a Technical Solutions Consultant specialising in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimising business applications that drive digital transformation. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their operational challenges and deliver scalable, cloud-based solutions that streamline processes, enhance productivity, and unlock actionable insights.

A key part of your role will be guiding organisations through their modernisation journey—migrating from legacy systems and manual workflows to integrated, cloud-native solutions built on Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

Deliver end-to-end solutions across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and related Microsoft cloud technologies.
Guide clients through modernisation journeys—moving from legacy platforms and reporting systems to modern cloud-native solutions built on Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
Implement and optimise cloud-based business applications and portals using Power Platform services.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and performance of data systems, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Configure and customise Dynamics 365 modules (e.g., Sales, Service, Marketing, Finance) to align with business processes.
Develop and maintain Model Driven Power Apps, Power Pages Portals, and automated workflows.
Design and implement integrations with external systems using APIs, Azure Logic Apps, and Data Connectors.
Lead data migration efforts, including data mapping, cleansing, and importing into Dynamics 365 environments.
Provide technical expertise for complex customisations, including plugins, scripts, and extensions, ensuring scalability and performance.
Conduct system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and performance validation to ensure solution quality.
Deliver training sessions and user guides to facilitate solution adoption and knowledge transfer.
Maintain solution documentation, including functional designs, technical specifications, and deployment guidelines.
Manage work items and CI/CD deployments within Azure DevOps and GitHub.
Ensure compliance with data governance, security protocols, and industry standards in all solution designs.
Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.

Ideal candidates will have

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across both technical and business audiences.
Experience in the development and customisation of Dynamics 365 Applications, Model Driven Power Apps, and Power Pages Portals.
Understanding of data governance, security models, and best practices for Power Platform and Dynamics 365 solutions.
Proficient in CI/CD pipelines and version control for Power Platform artefacts using Azure DevOps and Git.
Hands-on experience building scalable, user-friendly portals and dashboards.
Experience in data modelling, solution architecture, and integration within Microsoft Power Platform, including Dataverse, D365 modules, and Power Pages.
Significant proficiency in SQL, alongside programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, PowerShell, and/or .NET.
Strong understanding of data migration, ETL processes, and integration using Power Platform connectors, Logic Apps, and APIs.
Proven experience in business process automation, workflow design, and cloud-based application architectures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Power Platform services (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, Dataverse, D365 CE/CRM).

Qualifications & Certifications (Desirable)

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or related field.
Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate, Power Platform Solution Architect, Dynamics 365 Fundamentals, or equivalent.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Strong client-engagement and training/presentation skills.
