Job Description

As a Microsoft Fabric Solutions Consultant, you’ll play a key role in implementing and optimising cloud-based data analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric services. You’ll collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and performance of data systems, driving innovation and continuous improvement across the organisations.

A key part of the role will involve guiding clients through modernisation journeys - moving from legacy data platforms, reporting systems, and on-premise environments to modern cloud-native solutions built on Microsoft Fabric.

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

Implement data solutions using Microsoft Fabric tools like OneLake, Data Factory, Power BI, and more.
Integrate and optimise data from various sources, ensuring reliable and scalable data flows.
Develop data models and reports that empower business decision-making.
Support migration and modernisation journeys, moving clients from legacy reporting systems and on-premise data platforms to Microsoft Fabric.
Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their business challenges and translate these into practical, data-driven solutions.
Apply analytical thinking, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills to address complex business and technology needs.
Collaborate within agile, cross-functional teams to design, test, and deploy high-quality data and analytics solutions.
Share knowledge with colleagues, contribute to team growth, and continuously develop consulting and technical skills.
Stay current with advancements in Microsoft Fabric, AI and bring innovative ideas into client engagements.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric services (OneLake, Data Factory, Real-Time Analytics, Power BI, Data Science).
Proven experience in data analytics, data warehousing, and cloud-based data architectures.
Strong understanding of data warehouse design and ETL processes using Fabric Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines or similar cloud services.
Significant proficiency in SQL, alongside programming languages such as Python, PySpark, and/or Scala.
Experience in semantic layer design and data modelling within Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse architecture and Direct Lake mode.
Hands-on experience building scalable, user-friendly dashboards.
Proficient in CI/CD pipelines and version control for Fabric artefacts using Azure DevOps and Git.
Understanding of data governance, security models, and self-service BI best practices.
Experience in data science and AI/ML (e.g., building predictive models, applying machine learning frameworks, or integrating AI-driven insights into analytics solutions) is advantageous.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across both technical and business audiences.
