RAAFA WA Data Governance Framework

RAAFA WA manages information across a diverse range of care, operational, and business systems. As the organisation continued to grow and digitise, it recognised the need for a more unified approach to how data was governed, shared, and protected. Without consistent structures or visibility, it would become increasingly difficult to ensure that information was accurate, well-managed, and fully aligned with organisational priorities. 

WP Global Solutions partnered with RAAFA WA to establish a clear and practical Data Governance Framework supported by a three-year Strategic Roadmap. The engagement was designed to help RAAFA WA define governance roles, assess maturity, and build a foundation for data-driven transformation. 

Through a series of discovery workshops, WP captured requirements across all major business units, mapped key data sources and aligned governance objectives with compliance and organisational strategy. 

A suite of governance tools was developed, including a Data Governance Maturity Assessment, Risk Assessment Template, Balanced Score Card, RACI Matrix and Data Governance Policy Documents to clarify responsibilities and measure progress. At the technology layer, Microsoft Purview Data Map was used to scan CRM systems for metadata visibility, and Information Protection was applied across the Microsoft 365 environment to identify and classify sensitive and personally identifiable information (PII). These findings provided valuable insights into data exposure and helped inform governance priorities. 

The resulting Data Governance Roadmap outlined more than 25 initiatives providing a structured path to embed governance, strengthen compliance, and prepare for future innovation with Microsoft Fabric and supporting AI technologies.
